Twitter shows Russian authorities’ pages in search again
MOSCOW, Apr 10 (PRIME) -- Twitter has started showing the accounts of Russian authorities, including the pages of the Kremlin, the Foreign Ministry, and the country’s embassies abroad, in its search late on April 7.
The social network said a year ago that it would not promote or recommend the pages related to the Russian government both in its feed and search.
A former Twitter executive told The Telegraph earlier that these changes could not have appeared accidentally or without knowledge of the company’s staff. The daily said it happened in the wake of Twitter’s acquisition by tech billionaire Elon Musk.
Twitter also shows Russian media RT and Sputnik in search.
